Persian Nomadic Rugs

Nomadic Persian Rugs are woven by either nomadic pastoralists or semi-settled tribes people. This represents the simplest and earliest form of weaving. Their looms are horizontal and portable, and Nomadic Persian Rugs (Tribal Rugs) also feature a rectilinear (geometric) design – featuring ancient motifs that have been passed down families through the generations. Nomadic Persian Rugs (Tribal Rugs) employ a wool-on-wool construction (whilst settled nomads might use wool-on-cotton).
