Mahi Tabriz carpet with extensive water, colour-run and stain damage. This Persian Mahi Tabriz carpet was sent to Iran for restoration.

The removal of the colour-run and staining was a particularly time consuming process especially considering the highly patterned nature of the Mahi Tabriz carpet and also the

wool and silk (pile) content of the carpet. Nevertheless, restoration was a far less expensive option than replacing the carpet.
