Material: Silk Ikat front, cotton back with zip enclosure.
Colours and Design: This silk Ikat Cushion has striking colours of blue and navy blue with a white background. The back is made of plain blue cotton.
Condition/Age: The fronts of these cushions are made from woven Ikat fabric. These are cut in visually appealing ways and then machine stitched to a cotton backing.

Ikat is a dying technique used to pattern textiles. This is an ancient technique that has been produced in many countries that make traditional textiles such as India, Central Asia, South-East Asia, Africa and Latin America.
The fibres are dyed before being woven into a fabric. The making of Ikat fabric is labour intensive and time consuming – remember this is woven not printed!
