The Oriental Rug Merchant offers a fast and efficient first class rug and carpet cleaning service, which encompasses the following areas:
- dust removal before all cleaning is undertaken
- standard washing
- cleaning of Chinese and Indian rugs/carpets
- delicate washing of silk rugs/carpets
- also washing with moth treatment. (We also stock a range of Moth Killer products, these are available in-store and online here.)
There are many benefits to having your rug/carpet cleaned by hand professionally:
- It is extremely beneficial to Dust Allergy Sufferers.
- The tiny dust and grit particles that accumulate over the years are removed before cleaning – if left in the rug/carpet this will eventually lead to premature wear.
- The colours of the rug/carpet will be greatly revived.
Our professional cleaning prices:
Minimum charge of £54.00 on rugs up to 1.80×1.20m (2.16 sqm)
Rugs or carpets over 1.80×1.20m charged at £25 per square metre
Cleaning of Chinese and Indian rugs*
Minimum charge of £60.00 on rugs up to 1.80×1.20m (2.16 sqm)
Rugs or carpets over 1.80×1.20m charged at £28 per square metre
Cleaning of Silk rugs

Moth treatment
Charged in addition to the standard cleaning price’s above.

Please note that the full cleaning process will take approximately 3 weeks from the date our rug cleaners collect from us.
Carpets should be brought into our Tunbridge Wells showroom, however arrangements can be made for collection and delivery back to you – charges may apply – and is dependent upon your location.
We also have a first class Rug Restoration Service.
