Beni Ourain is the name of a confederation of Berber tribes that are known worldwide for stylish and ultimate comfort in a tribal rug that are highly sort-after for the modern home.

Simple in colour palette, but with a density of handwoven woollen pile. These Beni Ourain rugs are a grounding, homely, stylish combination of heightened textural sensations given from natural funky-fleecey-feel pile and distinct weave. Pure comfort underfoot with the added softness of wool reared from sheep in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

This is tribal luxury at it’s best as these types of rugs were originally for domestic use adding great warmth and comfort at night time and work particularly well in contemporary stylish interiors adding another dimension to your floor space visually, physically and stylistically.

Increasingly with the improvisational qualities of the weaver additional brighter colours can be also be found hinted at.

Supposedly simplicity is alluring but not as uniform as first seems with variants; the lines changing in shape or size or a line/pattern altered or even omitted intentionally for some visual intrigue. These are chunky comfortable pieces of floor art with a great solidity of weave with many added featured end- weaves and fringe variations adding to their uniqueness. Attractive plaited/braided warp ends can also be found sometimes incorporating and repeating the alternative added colour within them to give a subtle sense of detail and balance which can be enjoyed greatly too.
