Origin: Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier.

Technique: Hand-knotted.

Material: Wool pile, knotted onto cotton warps.

Colours and Design: Look closely and you will see a wonderful array of colours including gold, rust, blue and beige! Abstract theme of narrow lines of numerous colours surrounded with a plain brown border. An incredibly practical and stylish modern rug!

This Line Gabbeh rug is hand-knotted by Turkoman tribes in the province of Aqcha in Northern Afghanistan using 100% natural dyed hand spun wool on a cotton warp.

It has a luxurious pile made from wool formed by hand-tied knots secured onto a cotton foundation. Gabbeh Rugs traditionally tend to have a thick pile. The pile height on these Line Gabbeh Rugs is short, and is of a similar thickness to a Ziegler Rug (in the region of 7-8mm thick). 

The rugs are then transported over to Pakistan where they undergo expert finishing processes including washing and trimming.
