Size: 3.50×0.90m / 11’6″x3’0″ Thickness: 8mm
Technique: Hand-knotted. Double weft construction.

Colours and Design: This antique Sarab runner has classic colours including a traditional fawn / camel main shade along with supporting colours of navy blue, rust, teal, gold and cream. The design shows a classic geometric linked medallion theme.
Condition/Age: It’s width varies and it has wear to the pile along the middle of the runner (see images 5 & 6) but has beefier pile towards the sides. It has been recently washed, the ends have been secured and the sides securely bound. It dates from the early 1900s.
Additional Information:
At The Oriental Rug Merchant we are always on the look-out for interesting antique and old rugs. Often these are either no longer made in these places, or the carpet weaving has evolved into a more market-reactive enterprise. To preserve them for their next custodian, we always expertly wash the rugs that we discover and where possible/or financially viable repair them.
These rugs often look “at home” in period properties (almost like they have always been there), but conversely can be a spectacular statement piece in an ultra modern setting.
We recommend using a rug underlay under these rugs if using on hard flooring or carpeted floor. We stock a variety of rug underlay options to suit most situations.
