The weave of this Modern Afghan Rug is “Loribaft”. This Pictorial Loribaft Rug is like a fine type of Gabbeh Rug, albeit with a short pile height. It is made from hand-spun wool pile of natural dyes, hand-knotted onto cotton warps.
These Afghan Loribaft Rugs are a refined quality and the wool pile is particularly luxurious and silky to the touch.
Like the Persian Gabbeh Modern Rugs, these Afghan Loribaft Rugs have a tribal soul often featuring little goat-like motifs and highly imaginative designs.
