Origin: Afghanistan.

Technique: Hand-knotted. 

Material: Wool pile, cotton warp and weft.

Colours and Design: This fine Afghan Kazak Rug displays attractive colours including a green field with rust red border along with additional tones of blue, navy, orange, gold and beige. It has a geometric medallion featuring a classic Caucasian “Lesghi star” design centrepiece. 

Condition/Age: New.

Afghan Kazak Rugs are inspired by Nineteenth Century Caucasian Kazak Rugs. These are especially eye-catching rugs that are well suited to most locations.

Antique Caucasian Rugs have for many years been the domain of collectors due to their striking geometric motifs and eye-catching colours.

The Afghan Kazak Rugs represent an endeavour to recreate this type of appealing rug, but ensuring a functional and serviceable rug. 

The pile of these stunning Afghan Rugs is made from wool, formed by hand-tied knots, and knotted onto cotton warp threads. Most new Afghan Kazak Rugs have cotton warps (fringes), whilst older versions of these Afghan Kazak Rugs were made with woollen warp threads.
