Origin: Afghanistan.

Technique: Hand-knotted.

Material: Wool pile, knotted onto cotton warps. 

Colours and Design: Multi-colour, with plain red inner border along with colours including navy blue, green, brown, ochres and beige. This Afghan Shaal Rug has a geometric theme of vertical stripes containing floral motifs. (Moharammat / Cane Design).

Condition/Age: New.

This Afghan Shaal Rug is from a very small production in Afghanistan.

The Shaal design is distinctive and consists of a theme of stripes. These stripes are either in a wide of narrow format and contain floral decorations.

The pile of this Shaal Rug is hand-knotted and made from hand-spun wool. The dyes are natural; the colours are simply breath-taking. It is a wonderful hard wearing quality that will stand the test of time.
