Material: Wool, and wool warps.

Colours and Design: Multi-colour  – beige ground with attractive contrasting colours including terracotta, blue, turquoise, ochre, brown and mauve. This Afghan Maimana Kilim Rug has a chic all over geometric design arranged in chevron formation.

This Afghan Maimana Kilim rug is outstanding value! The wonderful jolly colours show very gentle and delicate variations of shade.

This Afghan Kilim consists of wool and is a handmade flat-weave, i.e. a rug without pile.  The weft coloured weft threads are woven in blocks which creates the pattern, and where two colours meet there is a tiny gap – hence the term slit weave.

One of the many benefits of this type of kilim is that because of the way it is constructed it is the same on both sides, meaning that it can be used either way up.

For use on a hard floor (wood, tiles, etc) or on carpet Underlay is recommended to prevent slippage.
